The stunningly beautiful Kempty Falls are situated 15Km. from Mussoorie on the Chakrota road. This place is located at an average height of 1364m. above sea level. This place is surrounded by high mountain ranges in the midst of green vegetation.
Kempty Falls were developed a tourist destination by a British officer. A string of clear water runs from here throughout the year and somersaults down the astonishing height of 4500ft. splitting into five cascades. This water falls down further 40ft.giving the appearance of water jumping on the rocks below. It looks as if water is playing with the rocks. At Kempty Falls, it appears as if the streams are themselves doing a somersault before they hit the bottom.Yamuna river is at 12Km. downhill from here. This view of water somersaulting and dancing is awesome and amazing. There are also arrangements for accommodation in huts in the area around Kempty. The falls can be visited any time round the year, the est time being from June to October. Trout are abundant here and fishing permits can be obtained from Divisional Forest Officer, Mussoorie.
A large number of visitors converge at this beautiful spot. The nearest airport is at Jollygrant and railway station at Dehradun. This is really an excellent holiday destination situated near the Queen Of Hills.
